PR Services

PR services built for organisations and people with something to say

Our work spans long-term PR and digital PR retainers, reputation and executive profiling, social and influencer campaigns, one-off projects and crisis pr support. Every campaign is built around what you need to achieve, whether that’s national media coverage, authoritative links, stronger search and AI visibility, a higher profile or protecting your reputation. Before we start, we agree clear monthly KPIs so you know exactly what we’re aiming to deliver.

01

Traditional PR

Traditional PR is the practice of managing and enhancing your public reputation through earned editorial coverage rather than paid advertising. Using our relationships with journalists and editors, we pitch stories, send press releases and arrange interviews for our clients across national, regional, local and broadcast media, as well as B2B titles. Editorial write-ups in mainstream outlets build credibility and shape how your audience feels about your brand. Readers know you haven't paid for that coverage. Journalists have chosen to write about you because you're newsworthy, and that counts for a lot.

  • Press office and media relations - the everyday work of pitching stories, writing releases and fielding journalist enquiries, so there's always something in the pipeline.
  • Creative campaign ideation - bigger ideas built to earn the kind of coverage a press release never will, from stunts to research to partnerships.
  • Reactive and newsjacking - getting your spokespeople into breaking stories while they're still running.
  • Product and service launches - coordinated pushes across print, broadcast and trade, timed around your commercial dates rather than ours.
  • Features and thought leadership - longer pieces, opinion columns and trade articles that position you as the person worth asking.
  • Awards and events - entries, judging panels and speaking slots that build profile outside the news cycle.

02

Digital PR for AI Search, SEO and GEO

Digital PR is the practice of earning coverage and editorial links from online publications to grow your visibility in search. Some of this looks like traditional PR, and the overlap is deliberate. The difference is what we're measuring. Traditional PR is judged on coverage and the audience it reaches. Digital PR is judged on links, rankings and whether you appear when someone asks an AI. We build data-led campaigns, expert comment and reactive stories that media want to publish. The links that come with that coverage are among the strongest signals search engines use, so the work lifts your rankings and brings qualified traffic to your site. It increasingly decides whether you appear in AI answers too. Claude, ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews and Perplexity lean heavily on what established publishers have written, so the brands turning up in those answers tend to be the ones already earning coverage.

  • Campaign ideation and data sourcing - original stories built from commissioned surveys, FOI requests or public datasets nobody has thought to interrogate properly.
  • Expert comment - your specialists quoted in the stories journalists are already writing, often within hours of a story breaking.
  • Reactive and newsjacking - fast responses to breaking news, so you're in the coverage rather than reading it.
  • Editorial links and coverage - placements in titles that readers trust and search engines weight heavily.
  • AI and search visibility - tracking where you currently appear in Google and in AI answers, then building the coverage that gets you cited.
  • Results-backed retainers - monthly work with agreed KPIs in terms of coverage and links, so you know exactly what you're paying for.

03

Brand and Reputation Management

Our brand and reputation work sits above individual campaigns. It's about deciding what you stand for, what you say and how you sound, then making sure every piece of coverage pulls in the same direction. We define your positioning and core messaging, build the narrative your spokespeople work from, and handle the ongoing work of building and protecting your reputation. That includes crisis planning and response, managing what appears when someone searches your name, and keeping your story consistent across every title that writes about you. Campaigns win you attention. Ongoing brand and reputation work decides what people think once they're looking at you.

  • Positioning and messaging - the core set of things you say about yourself, agreed and written down, so everyone from your sales team to your founder tells the same story.
  • Narrative development - the longer version of that story, shaped so journalists find it worth writing about.
  • Reputation monitoring - ongoing tracking of coverage, search results and social mentions, with a plan ready for when something needs a response.
  • Retained strategic counsel - a senior contact you can call before you make a decision, not just after.

04

Social and Influencer

Coverage puts you in front of people once. Social is how you stay there and remain part of the conversation. We handle the day to day running of your channels, produce the content that fills them, and build partnerships with creators whose audiences already trust them. The two work together: a campaign that lands in the nationals gives you something worth posting about, and an engaged following gives that coverage somewhere to land.

  • Channel management - planning, scheduling, posting and community management across the platforms your audience actually uses.
  • Content production - video, stills and copy made for each platform rather than cut down from something else.
  • Creator partnerships - matching you with creators by audience fit rather than follower count, and handling briefing, contracts and disclosure.
  • Paid amplification - putting budget behind the posts and coverage that are already working.
  • Reporting - what grew, what landed and what to do more of next month.

05

Founder and CEO Profiling

Building the public profile and authority of the people leading your business. Buyers, investors and journalists increasingly want to know who's behind a company, and a founder with a public voice opens doors the brand can't. We work out what your founder is genuinely worth listening to on, then earn the thought leadership, profile interviews, podcast appearances and speaking platforms that put them in the right rooms.

  • Founder positioning - the two or three subjects they can speak on with real authority, rather than a list of everything they know.
  • Ghostwritten thought leadership - bylines, columns and opinion pieces in the titles their audience reads.
  • Profile and interview placement - longer sit-down interviews with national, trade and business press.
  • LinkedIn and personal channels - a consistent voice on the platforms where their peers actually are.
  • Speaking and panels - conference slots, panel appearances and judging positions
  • Media training - preparation for interviews, including the difficult ones.

06

Crisis Management

When a negative story is brewing, the first few hours matter more than anything. We give you experienced counsel immediately, so you're making decisions rather than reacting to them. Bad press, legal threats, regulatory action, trade union stand-offs, social pile-ons, cyber attacks and internal leaks. We assess what's actually happening, advise on whether to respond at all, draft statements and holding lines, and deal with journalists directly so your team doesn't have to. We're recommended by some of the country's leading media lawyers in London and Manchester, and we're used to working alongside legal teams rather than around them.

  • 24/7 rapid response - a senior consultant reachable immediately by emailing hello@marcorichards.co.uk
  • Statement drafting - holding lines, full statements and Q&A briefs, written with your legal team.
  • Media handling - dealing with journalists, deadlines and right of reply requests directly.
  • Internal and stakeholder communications - what staff and stakeholders are told and when, so your response doesn't leak before you've made it.
  • Search and online reputation - managing what appears when someone looks you up, during and after.
  • Post-crisis rebuild - getting coverage and perception back where they were once the pressure lifts.
  • Crisis planning - scenario mapping and agreed holding lines, prepared before you need them.

If you are dealing with something right now, call 0161 826 0121. Out of hours, email hello@marcorichards.co.uk and mark it urgent. We will come back with clear, calm advice on next steps.
