The challenge
Active Iron is the flagship brand of Solvotrin Therapeutics, an Irish healthcare company headquartered in County Cork with R&D based at Trinity College Dublin. Founded by CEO Pat O'Flynn, alongside Professor Mark Ledwidge and Professor John Gilmer, the brand makes clinically-backed iron supplements sold across markets including the UK, US and mainland Europe.
But the supplement category is crowded with claims, where credibility is hard won and easily lost. Active Iron needed health PR that could turn genuine clinical research into consumer health stories that landed with national press, broadcast and specialist media.
Our approach
We translated clinical research into accessible consumer stories, backed by expert spokespeople and timed around key retail moments, turning the science behind Active Iron into consumer health storytelling that both journalists and shoppers could actually relate to.
The outcome
The approach has delivered more than 250 brand mentions from three research-led campaigns, with national, broadcast and print reach including features in Women's Running, HuffPost UK and The Mirror. The result is sustained national coverage, stronger category credibility, and PR that supports retail listings rather than sitting apart from them.
